Harry Redknapp has all but admitted defeat in his bid to guide Portsmouth to a fifth-place Premiership finish.
The Fratton Park boss has made no secret that his priority now is next month's FA Cup semi-final showdown with Premiership hopefuls West Brom at Wembley.
Defeat against Tottenham at the weekend coupled by Everton's draw with West Ham has left Pompey trailing the Toffees by seven points - a gap Redknapp feels is beyond his players.
Redknapp told The News: "I think fifth is very difficult now. You have to fancy Everton.
"It's not impossible and of course we'll keep going.
"But our main priority now has to be the FA Cup. Winning that would be a terrific achievement.
"Imagine what that would mean to our supporters."
