Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz is aiming to secure 20 goals for the club in his first season in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old Paraguayan international has been one of the buys of the season after boss Mark Hughes paid out just £3.8million for his services from Bayern Munich in the summer. And, despite him failing to score more than six goals for the German side in each of his eight years at the club, Santa Cruz reached reached 18 with his brace against Wigan in Saturday's 3-1 win.
He is happy with that tally, but with seven games still remaining, Santa Cruz is now desperate to break through the 20 goals barrier.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I am very happy with my total of 18 goals so far.
"I am just going to keep trying for the rest of the season and, hopefully, keep scoring.
"My first season has gone well but I won't be happy unless I keep scoring so we will see how things go."
He added: "Twenty is seen as the magic number but who knows? I am not going to make any targets - let's just see how far I can I go before the end of the season.
"The philosophy of the team, and how they play, affect how many opportunities you get as a striker.
"As a striker, you could end up with less chances to score (if the team doesn't play well)."
