Charlton are hoping striker Luke Varney and defender Madjid Bougherra will be fit in time for Saturday's clash with Wolves.

A foot injury ruled Varney out of the 1-1 draw against West Brom on Good Friday, while centre half Bougherra was due back in training this week following a foot injury which has ruled him out since early February.

Lloyd Sam was also due to resume training at the start of the week following a hamstring problem as Alan Pardew's side look to get their promotion push back on track at the Valley.

Meanwhile Pardew has called on the fans not to give up hope on securing a play-off place as they sit in tenth spot but just two points off the top-six.

He told the club's website: "It's all to play for still, and I'd urge the fans to stick with us in what will be a make-or-break period.

"Automatic promotion is clearly out of the question now, but we are still very much in the hunt for the play-offs, and our quest continues against Wolves on Saturday.

"We gave a very good West Brom side a few problems on Good Friday, and again the players' efforts on the afternoon cannot be questioned.

"In many respects, we have nothing to lose now; it's do or die and a win against Wolves will help us greatly."
