Hopes of seeing winger Glen Little in a Reading shirt this season have risen after he played for 30 minutes for the reserves.
Little has been out of the side for almost a year with an Achilles injury so it was major boost to see the return of the former Burnley player, who showed some neat touches in a half hour appearance.
Reading boss Steve Coppell will be in no hurry to rush the player back into action too soon and much will depend on what, if any, reaction he has following his cameo role.
Although the player himself is desperate to get back into first team action in an effort to win a new contract at the club, as his present deal runs out in the summer.
He was not alone in making a comeback as Graeme Murty got a full 90 minutes under his belt as he fights his way back from a knee injury, the pair could not stop the second string going down 2-0 away at Fulham.
