Royals better off attacking

Reading boss Steve Coppell has admitted the side are better going forward and looking for goals than sitting back and defending.

Despite scoring their share this season, the Royals have shipped more goals than anyone except Derby in the Premiership and have only kept four clean sheets all the campaign.

Coppell believes the best way for the side to defend is to attack, he told the club's website "I think we're better when we're going forward.

"At 1-0 up I think it's human nature to have an element of you that wonders whether to go for a second goal or just to stay and protect what you've got.

"Sometimes you think 'let's protect first and then go for a second'.

"We are better saying 'let's go forward and score more goals.'"
