Jari Litmanen has returned to full training at Fulham and Roy Hodgson feels the forward could play a part before the end of the season.
The 37-year-old joined the Cottagers during the January transfer window, but is yet to play a first-team game after suffering a thigh injury.
The former Liverpool man was forced to return home to Finland to get treatment, but the veteran forward is now back with the Cottagers and out to prove his worth.
Speaking to the club's official website, Roy Hodgson said: "I'm delighted to have Jari around. He's certainly not match fit but he might just get there.
"When Jari is mechanically fit he's never far away from being match fit. He keeps himself very fit."
He added: "He's contracted until the end of the season and then we'll take a further assessment of the situation and talk to him again.
"Who knows, maybe he'll be fit and we'll like what we see and want to keep him for next season."
