West Ham's Northern Ireland international George McCartney has declared his intention to stay at Upton Park and not move to Rangers.
Gers boss Walter Smith was said to be very keen on the international left-back and it's claimed he is ready to make a move to take him to Ibrox in the summer.
Whilst McCartney says he is flattered by the link to the leaders of the SPL, he does not believe a move to Scotland would improve his game and is happy with life at east London.
"I'm happy with life at West Ham - I am playing every week in the Premier League," said McCartney.
"Rangers are a massive team but I don't know if Scottish football is really up to Premier League standards."
