Sunderland have been boosted by the news that Carlos Edwards and Kenwyne Jones will be available to face West Ham.
The Black Cats duo have been struggling with injury and boss Roy Keane decided to pull them both out of Trinidad & Tobago's friendly clash against Jamaica this evening.
Sunderland then rejected a request from the Trinidad & Tobago Football Federation to have their conditions independently verified and a row erupted.
The T&TFF immediately threatened to impose a FIFA sanction that would mean Sunderland not being able to field the players until five days after the game against Jamaica.
Had Trinidad carried through their threat then the duo would have been forced to sit out against West Ham, but thankfully they have backed down and the duo can play.
"We are putting all that behind us," FIFA vice-president and T&TFF special adviser Jack Warner told a press conference. "We won't invoke the FIFA regulation."
