Cameroon international Alain Nkong is reportedly a summer transfer target for Spurs boss Juande Ramos.

The midfielder is currently plying his trade with Mexican side Atlante but has made no secret that he is keen to make a switch to the English top flight.

Spurs' scouts spotted him playing in the African Nations Cup after he smashed home the winner in a game against Ghana, and have since been keeping a close eye on his progress.

The 28 year-old has found it difficult to settle after time in Spain, Uruguay and the USA prior to his move to Mexico.

However, Ramos believes if he can feel comfortable in England then he would be an ideal acquisition to the Spurs squad, which looks set to get an overhaul this summer.

It is thought that Ramos himself is now set to take a closer look at him with a view to doing a deal in time for the start of pre-season training.
