Man City are certain to swoop for a big-name keeper in the summer with Andreas Isaksson and Kasper Schmeichel's futures uncertain.
Isaksson is set to move on in search of first-team football after failing to dislodge number one Joe Hart and Schmeichel admits he could follow the Sweden international out of Eastlands.
The son of Manchester United legend, Peter, has already held talks with boss Sven-Goran Eriksson as he looks to get away and find a regular game.
"He said that he can't promise me that, so if I am honest it looks like my future might not be at City," admitted Schmeichel who is currently on loan at Coventry.
"I have got three years left on a good contract so I could bide my time, but I am a footballer and I want to play. It is as simple as that. The future is exciting. I could go anywhere in Europe to play my football: Spain, Italy or stay here in England."
