Roque Santa Cruz has insisted Manchester United have not been in contract with Blackburn about a possible summer move to Old Trafford.
The former Bayern Munich striker has been a revelation in his debut season in the Premier League, scoring 17 goals, and is a big hit with Rovers supporters.
Ewood boss Mark Hughes has already moved to kill off interest in the Paraguay international by insisting Blackburn are not a selling club and Santa Cruz has revealed he has no immediate desire to leave.
"If I have to be transferred I expect it to be inside England because I would like to stay in this country," Santa Cruz, who scored the opener against United on April 19, told a radio station in Asuncion.
"To tell you the truth I'm not thinking about leaving Blackburn Rovers.
"I know about the interest from Manchester United after what has been said in the press but nobody has spoken with me about that."
