Rio Ferdinand praised the Utd fans for their support which he claims helped them beat Barcelona and reach the Champions League final.
The Red Devils won 1-0 against the Catalan giants in the semi-final second leg at Old Trafford on Tuesday with over 75,000 fans cheering them on throughout. And skipper Ferdinand, who enjoyed an excellent game in the centre of defence to thwart the constant second half attacks from the Barcelona players, was thankful to the support.
He said: "You can't put this into words. The fans played their part and backed us the whole way and we dug deep."
Ferdinand also hailed midfielder Paul Scholes for his stunning goal which earned United a first Champions League final spot in nine years.
He added: "Then there was a moment of quality from a fantastic player. Paul Scholes...what a goal. A great time to get one."
Chelsea or Liverpool await in the all-English final in Moscow on May 21 but Ferdinand does not mid which of the two sides they will go up against.
"We stayed together and now we're waiting for whoever comes," he said.
