Swindon boss Maurice Malpas has confirmed Fulham midfielder Michael Timlin has been offered a contract to make his loan stay permanent.

The 23-year-old former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international enjoyed a successful season-long loan with the Robins last season and returned last month for another stint. And, having impressed with the League One outfit, Malpas says they are hopeful of keeping Timlin on a full-time basis at the end of the season.

"Michael Timlin is someone I knew of before coming to the club, and since returning to Swindon he has done well," he told Swindon's official website.

"He wants to stay and has been made an offer to stay here with us."

Meanwhile Darlington keeper David Stockdale says he is focusing on helping his side secure promotion to League One via the play-offs before discussing a move to Fulham after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee last week.

"It's been amazing in my first full season for Darlington," Stockdale told the Northern Echo.

"But at the moment I am not thinking about anything else other than helping Darlington in the play-offs. All I want to do is help us reach Wembley."
