Andy Murray says he was not fully motivated after being dumped out of the Open Sabadell Atlantico by Mario Ancic in the second round.
The British number one, who has given a bye in the first round, did have his chances but ultimately wasted them as he succumbed 6-4 6-4 to the Croatian - the second time he has lost to Ancic in as many months.
Murray now has only the Masters Series events in Rome and Hamburg left to prepare for the French Open, starting on May 26, but he insists that they were always top of his priorities and that he will be fully focused for both.
"I was flat. I was going to be here practising anyway, so I had hoped to get a few matches," he told BBC Sport.
"But my priority is to train for Rome and Hamburg. I wanted to continue from last week, but it is not the be-all and end all.
"I didn't get that fired up for the match.
"I've now got four or five days to get ready for Rome. It and Hamburg are the most important ones going into the French Open."
