Jimmy Bullard says Fulham's relegation six-pointer against Birmingham on Saturday will be 'huge' and 'an absolute cracker'.

The Cottagers' midfield star recognises that the players need to secure a victory in their final home game of the campaign to stand any chance of staying in the Premier League and jump above the Blues, who are one point and one place above them in the third and final relegation place.

Defeat could see Roy Hodgson's men relegated and Bullard says that is why the match against Birmingham is so important.

He said: "Birmingham are in the same position as us, we're breathing down their necks so it's going to be an absolute cracker.

"It's going to be huge, probably one of the biggest games I've ever been involved in, and you're not going to expect it to be an easy game.

"It would be nice to end our last home game on a good note and pay the fans back for how good they've been to us all season. As long as we win, you've got to be happy."

Fulham go into the game boosted by last week's 3-2 win at Manchester City where they stormed back from two-down to pick up a vital three points.

Bullard added: "The gaffer put a lot of belief in us at half time. He told us we've got nothing to lose, go out and play and win the second half.

"It was the best result since I've been at Fulham. We knew how much it meant to us afterwards; just scoring in the last couple of minutes to nick the result was massive for us."
