The future of Ibrahima Sonko and record signing Emerse Fae are in doubt after they were fined and banned from Reading for two weeks.

The pair were selected to play for the second string on Monday night in their match with Spurs, but they told coaching staff on Sunday that they would not play, apparently for fear of injury ahead of a summer of internationals.

Subsequently they have both been banned from the Madejski Stadium for two weeks and fined a fortnight's wages for their no show and there are now major doubts over their futures at the club.

Coppell told the Evening Post: "They have been fined and been suspended, but they have a right to appeal.

"As far as I'm concerned it's an internal measure and it will stay with in the club.

"I want people here who are committed to the club not themselves.

"I don't care about the long-term as it's all about what happens now. We have two massive games and that is all we're concentrating on. I will re-assess the situation in the summer."
