Oscar de la Hoya has vowed not to underestimate Steve Forbes when they meet on Saturday night in Carson, California.
De la Hoya has stressed he has not been distracted by talk of a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, who beat him on a split decision in May last year, and is fully prepared for the threat posed by Forbes - another graduate from The Contender show.
Former IBF super featherweight champion Forbes has yet to be stopped in his 33-5 career to date but is a massive underdog for his light-middleweight showdown with de la Hoya.
"I have to go out there and give a great performance and fight my own fight," he told Sky Sports News. "I've prepared 100 percent.
"I'm ready and obviously we're not looking over Stevie Forbes, he is a dangerous customer, he has a tricky style."
He added: "He has that similar Mayweather style, the only difference is that he stays in front of you which is great for me we can come in a give a great fight.
"So I feel that I've done my homework and I'm ready for this fight."
