Arsenal could lose out to French giants Marseille in the race to land Lyon winger Hatem Ben Arfa this summer.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is known to be a big fan of Ben Arfa, who has stalled on signing a new deal with the French champions elect, but Marseille are also keen on him and believe they are favourites to land him.

Lyon are keen on signing Marseille's Samir Nasri as Ben Arfa's replacement and a swap deal between the two clubs is on the cards, news that is sure to disappoint Wenger.

Ben Arfa is believed to be favouring a move to London but there is little he can do if Lyon refuse to sell to The Gunners and line up a deal with Marseille instead.

Wenger plans to add more quality to his squad this summer but trying to keep Mathieu Flamini and Alex Hleb is a more pressing concern at the moment.
