Gary Megson says Kevin Davies will definitely return for Bolton against Sunderland after recovering from a hand injury.
Davies has been forced to miss the last two games through suspension but he would have had to sit them out anyway after breaking a bone in his hand during the 1-0 win over West Ham.
The influential striker is now back to full fitness and boss Megson says he will definitely play against the Black Cats.
"He's been training for the last three or four days and his hand seems fine, but it was always going to be," Megson said of the situation. "He'll play regardless."
Meanwhile, Megson says Davies will give the whole squad a lift and is delighted to have him back.
"Kevin is an important member of the squad and, more so, the team," Megson revealed. "But a lot was made of the fact Kevin was suspended from the two games, and he had broken his hand anyway.
"He played ever so well in his last game, West Ham, but in the period where the pundits would tell you we were going to really struggle because Kevin was not there, we took four points away from home, which we hadn't done all season.
"So a lot of people have rolled their sleeves up and taken over the mantle from Kevin - but it will be nice to have him back."
