Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is keen on making a move for Lille midfield star Jean Makoun as he bids to reshuffle his squad.

The Cameroon star has spent the last seven years at Lille but wants to leave to play on a bigger stage in the summer and Spurs are thought to be lining up a swoop for the player.

Makoun, who has also been attracting the interest of Manchester City, claims to have a gentleman's agreement with Lille that he can leave and he looks certain to bring it into the equation when the transfer window opens.

The talented 24-year-old hopes that he will have an agreement in place to join a London club within the next few weeks and Tottenham are leading the race for his signature.
