Disgraced sprinter Dwain Chambers is keen to compete at London 2012 if he can overturn his current ban from the Olympic Games.
The 30-year-old served a two-year ban for a positive drugs test and recently returned to the track with mixed success.
However he has been told that he will not receive invites to a number of meetings on the lucrative European circuit this summer and has turned his attentions to rugby league in an attempt to re-start a career in sport.
Despite serving his ban, he has been frozen out by UK Athletics and is banned for life from competing at the Olympics.
The London-born flyer is on trial at Super League side Castleford but he is determined not to put all his eggs in one basket, and will work towards a return to the track at the very highest level.
"No matter what happens with the rugby league adventure I hope to get the Olympic ban overturned," he said.
"If there is no offer from Castleford, I will do a couple of British League meets and see how fast I am running.
"I will keep battling on. I want to finish my sporting career on the track. I will only be 34 (in 2012), which is not ancient for a sprinter," he added to the Daily Telegraph.
