Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson admits the wide-scale support of the club's fans is unlikely to save him from the sack.
Owner Thaksin Shinawatra looks almost certain to dispense with the former England coach just 12 months into a three-year deal but the move has been greeted with derision from the Eastlands faithful.
Eriksson received backing from the stands during the 1-0 defeat at Liverpool but does not expect it to make any difference.
"The support for me was fantastic, of course it is. It makes me stand up from the bench a lot but I can do that, no problem," he said.
"It was fantastic, of course I am thankful. They have been fantastic all season, incredible.
"Maybe it will not affect things, I don't know. But we have one week to go until the season is finished. But I would appreciate it if people would accept that we will start talking after that."
