Defender Franck Queudrue says Birmingham still have a '50-50' chance of staying in the Premiership despite it being out of their hands.
The 29-year-old French stopper, who joined the Blues from relegation rivals Fulham last summer, is confident that Alex McLeish's side can defeat Blackburn this Sunday and hope their rivals lose their respective games which would ensure a second season in the Premier League.
Fulham face a trip to FA Cup finalists Portsmouth, whose manager Harry Redknapp has vowed to field a strong line up, while Reading will fancy their chances at Derby who have only won one game all season and are now the worst side in the history of the Premier League.
Despite it not looking good for the Blues, Queudrue insists the odds remain even on the club staying up and says they have to do their own job and hope for the best.
He said: "We still have a chance. They are both away from home, we are at home. I think the odds are 50-50.
"Blackburn are a good away team as well. We will see.
"As a team we never give up and we will give everything we can, as we always do at St Andrew's."
Queudrue also accepted responsibility for both of the goals Birmingham conceded in Saturday's disastrous 2-0 defeat at his former club Fulham.
He added in the Post: "[Brian] McBride was my player. I just got my shirt pulled by Brede Hengeland as the ball came in and it gave McBride a couple of yards and it was enough to give him a free header. I had just come on and I was watching McBride and I was following him but, in those two yards, I lost the ball and it gave him the two yards.
"For the second goal, when you are 1-0 down you don't try to kick it, you try to play properly but it was just a misheader. It led to Nevland's goal and from there, there was no coming back. I hold my hands up; I take the responsibility for the goals."
