Portuguese reports claim Luiz Felipe Scolari is considering an offer to be the new Man City boss and Porto's Bruno Alves may join him.
Brazilian coach Scolari was one of the first names to be linked with the City job when it became apparent that current boss Sven-Goran Eriksson will be leaving Eastlands at the end of this season. However he insisted last week that he knew nothing about the position and was merely concentrating on Portugal's Euro 2008 campaign next month.
Despite that claim Portuguese sports daily, Record, has revealed that Scolari has been offered a four million euro a year contract by City's Thai owner Thaksin Shinawatra with a 75 million euro transfer kitty to bring success to the Manchester outfit. If he accepts then Scolari will take over the reins when his contract with the Portuguese Football Federation comes to an end after the European Championships at the end of June.
Record also claims Scolari could be joined at City by Porto's Portugal centre-back Alves, who is the subject of a 13million euro offer from City. The 26-year-old was handed his international debut by Scolari and would no doubt favour a move should his national team coach take over at City.
Alves would not be drawn on a move and said: "I am flattered by the reports but I have signed a deal with Porto, which complicates an exit.
"The club would only study an offer for me if the fee was of grand proportions."
