Darren Clarke admits he has not heard from Nick Faldo despite catapulting himself back into Ryder Cup contention at the Asian Open.
The Northern Irishman ended his long wait for a title at the BMW Asian Open a fortnight ago but says he cannot afford to rest on his laurels if he is to qualify for Europe's 2008 challenge.
Clarke's triumph in China, his first tournament win in five years, has propelled him back into contention for the clash with USA in Valhalla next September.
"After the Open the make-up of the team starts taking shape and that's when Nick might make the odd call," the Dunganno native told The Guardian
?I don't really know him that well because Nick's one of those guys who has always kept himself to himself.
?But he's achieved an immense amount in the game - winning six majors and being European No1 so long. He will bring a lot to the captaincy even though he'll be different to Woosie [Ian Woosnam, the European captain in Ireland two years ago]."
