Everton boss David Moyes is contemplating a summer move for midfielder Steve Sidwell who is out of favour at Chelsea.

Sidwell is almost certain to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after a disappointing first season since his free transfer move from Reading last summer and has made just 13 starts for the club.

Moyes is a known admirer of the player and was ready to make a move to bring him to Goodison Park on loan in January.

That never came off and he is now contemplating a permanent switch for the England Under 21 star, who has not featured in Chelsea's first team since the FA Cup tie against Huddersfield back in February.

Moyes would face a battle for his signature, though, as at £3m there would be a race or his services with Reading, Blackburn and Sunderland all having shown a past interest.
