Arsene Wenger has warned Real Madrid they must obey the rules if they want to sign star midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The Emirates Stadium boss has reacted angrily to Real president Ramon Calderon's public declaration of interest in the highly-rated Spain international.
And, after losing fellow midfielder Mathieu Flamini to AC Milan, has told the Spanish champions they must go through the correct channels if their interest is genuine.
"The rules are clear: if you are interested in a player then first you have to call us," said Wenger.
"Real Madrid come out and say they want that player. That is something I would never do."
