Roy Keane will look to tempt West Ham striker Carlton Cole to Sunderland in the summer, according to reports.
Keane has made no secret of his desire to clear the decks at the Stadium of Light ahead of next season and wants to offer Cole regular football on Wearside.
Keane could face competition from north-east rivals Middlesbrough and Scottish league leaders Celtic for the former England Under-21 international, with West Ham wanting £2million for his signature.
The ambitious Irishman knows he needs cover for chief striker Kenwyne Jones and is ready offer 24-year-old Cole a route out of east London.
