Winger Tommy Smith is looking forward to facing Hull in the play-offs as he wants Watford to avenge their recent 3-0 league defeat.
The Hornets player of the season was the hero of the final day of the Championship campaign as he scored the equaliser at Blackpool which secured the point which was good enough to get them in the final play-off spot on goal difference. And Smith says the players should take the opportunity to hit form at the right time and show the Tigers what they are capable of over two legs in the play-off semi-final.
He said: "It would have been terrible not to have made it into the play-offs on the last day, but we always felt we would be capable of achieving that.
"The margin with which we secured our place just goes to show how important the little things are and how vital everyone's contribution is.
"It's always great to have form but in these situations it counts for nothing.
"We didn't prove ourselves up at Hull a few weeks ago so it will be cathartic to put things right and there won't be a bigger stage to do it on than in the play-off semi-final."
