Finland's Heikki Kovalainen has been given the all-clear to race at this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix.
The McLaren ace had been forced to take a fitness test after a horror 150mph crash at the Spanish Grand Prix saw him plough into the tyre barrier on the 22nd lap and left him unconscious.
The 26-year-old had no memory of the incident but was released from hospital on Monday and will now take his place on the grid this weekend.
An FIA statement read: "Following a medical examination this morning by the FIA medical delegate, Professor Jean-Charles Piette, and the chief medical officer of the event, Dr Cem Boneval, Heikki Kovalainen has been cleared to race in the 2008 Turkish Grand Prix."
Kovalainen, who will use the team's spare car in Turkey, is unfazed by the crash and is keen to get back behind the wheel.
"Formula One is a risky business," he said. "You know that as a driver, but you don't think about it.
"If you worry about things like that, you lose focus. I guess it's just not in my psyche.
"I can't wait to get back into the car and race with the team next weekend."
