QPR co-owner Bernie Ecclestone has categorically denied any approach has been made to Zinedine Zidane over the managerial vacancy.
Rangers are on the lookout for a new man after parting company with Luigi De Canio on Thursday, with Ecclestone admitting he knew the Italian would be leaving six months ago.
"I can say 100 per cent categorically 'no' to stories that we have spoken to Zidane," he told The Times.
"We have known for six months that the coach would be leaving and we have to draw up the shortlist, but Zidane's name is not on it."
France legend Zidane retired as a player after the 2006 World Cup in Germany when he was sent off in the final for head-butting Italy defender Marco Materrazi.
He has no managerial experience following a playing career which took him to Juventus and Real Madrid.
