Feyenoord are leading the race to sign Rangers' Belgian midfielder Thomas Buffel - who is set to leave Ibrox on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old will end his three-year stint in Scotland at the end of the season, with clubs queuing up to take him on.

Belgian giants Anderlecht and Club Brugge are both keen, while German outfits FC Koln and Hannover 96 are expected to renew their interest.

The Bundesliga club were close to a deal during the January transfer window, but it is believed to have broken down over personal terms.

Feyenoord are confident of landing Buffel despite finishing a lowly sixth in the Dutch Eredivisie this season, meaning they again miss out on the Champions League.
