Tottenham could be ready to triple David Bentley's wages in an attempt to lure the player away from Blackburn this summer.

Rovers have insisted they are not a selling club and that Bentley is going nowhere, but that will not deter Spurs boss Juande Ramos, who is keen to get the England international on board.

Ramos has just spent £16million to land Czech Republic star Luka Modric for next season and he wants to draft Bentley in as well as he looks to break into the top four.

Reports claim that Spurs are ready to offer Bentley £60,000 a week to make the switch to White Hart Lane, while the chance to play in the UEFA Cup and push for the Champions League next season could also turn the player's head.

Liverpool are also known to be keen and despite Blackburn's tough stance it looks as though their resolve will be tested to the max during the close season.
