Andy Murray's conqueror, Stanislas Wawrinka, is into the semi-finals of the Rome Masters with a three-set victory over James Blake.
The Swiss number two beat Murray and Juan Carlos Ferrero en route to his showdown with the American and moved into the last four with a hard-fought 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 victory.
Wawrinka could now face Andy Roddick in the last four if the American beats Tommy Robredo, while the other quarter-finals see Roger Federer face Radek Stepanek, and Novak Djokovic take on Nicolas Alamgro.
Warwrinka is certainly the form player at present, having reached the semi-finals in Barcelona last week and making the last four of a Masters Series event for the first time in Italy.
