Charlton are reported to be lining up a swoop for Norwich midfielder Mark Fotheringham, who could leave for free.
Fotheringham has yet to pen a new deal with the Canaries and unless one can be hammered out soon, the 24-year-old could walk away from Carrow Road on a free transfer.
Addicks boss Alan Pardew will have to be careful with his cash this summer and the fact that Fotheringham will be available for nothing will appeal to him.
Fotheringham has said he would like to stay but his future still remains very much up in the air.
"I look to be here next season but it's not up to me," he said. "It's up to the club and the agent to sort out the contract. In terms of myself, I want to be here, so I hope they can get it done as soon as possible."
