Former England midfielder Lee Hendrie could still have a Sheffield United future, according to boss Kevin Blackwell.

Hendrie was signed by former manager Bryan Robson on a free transfer from Aston Villa but struggled with form and fitness before being shipped out on loan to Leicester.

However, the Foxes' relegation to League One ended his chances of a permanent move to the Walkers Stadium.

"He comes back as a Sheffield United player," Blackwell said. "Maybe he'll flourish under a team that's doing well.

"I'm aware of his comments that he didn't like it at Sheffield. But he's contracted at Sheffield United and he will do everything that's required of Sheffield United unless he moves on."
