Tugay says he wants to sign a new deal with Blackburn and has not given up hope of extending his Rovers career.
The 37-year-old is due to fall out of contract in the summer and Rovers boss Mark Hughes has still to decide whether to offer the midfielder a new one-year deal.
Hughes is waiting to find out how much cash he will have to spend before he makes a decision and Tugay is hoping a new contract will be put on the table now the last game of the season against Birmingham is out of the way.
"I haven't given up on getting another contract so I hope it isn't my last game," Tugay revealed. "But if I had to leave it would be like leaving home and part of my family. I want to stay. The club is very special to me.
"It's like my second family and I have tremendous respect for everyone associated with it but especially the fans as I feel we have a special relationship."
