Spanish outfit Real Betis are reported to have failed with a £1.5million bid for Charlton defender Madjid Bougherra.
The Algerian international defender has impressed during his 18-month spell at the club since arriving from Sheffield Wednesday and the Addicks could face a battle to keep him.
Betis are reported to have failed with the bid last week and now speculation is suggesting they are ready to test Charlton's resolve by coming back in with an improved bid.
Clubs closer to home are also known to be keen with Wigan thought to be showing an interest in the 25-year-old.
