Aston Villa are targeting a swoop for Hull goalkeeper Boaz Myhill and will make a move even if the Tigers win promotion.

Despite finishing sixth in the table after yesterday's 2-2 draw against West Ham, Villa have missed out on the UEFA Cup and their boss Martin O'Neill is planning changes.

O'Neill knows he will need more strength in depth and is keen to sign Liverpool striker Peter Crouch, Steve Sidwell from Chelsea and Tigers star Myhill.

Hull are hoping the highly-rated keeper will be playing Premiership football with them next season, but that may not deter Villa who now look unlikely to keep Liverpool keeper Scott Carson.
