Italian side AS Roma and German Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg have been linked with moves to sign Aston Villa striker Darren Bent.
Roma have already been linked with a move to sign Arsenal forward Gervinho this summer as they attempt to bolster their attacking options at the Stadio Olimpico.
Palermo's Uruguayan forward Abel Hernandez is the latest top target, but director of football Walter Sabatini will switch his focus on to Bent if the Serie A club fail to sign him.
Wolfsburg manager Dieter Hecking is also keen to make a move for Bent, who scored three goals in 16 Premier League games last season after being frozen out by boss Paul Lambert.
Newcastle have also expressed an interest in the 29-year-old, who Villa agreed to pay Sunderland £24million just 30 months ago, but could be allowed to leave for as little as £5 million.
