Celtic keen to keep Villa target

Celtic are looking to tie down highly-rated midfielder Lewis Kidd after Aston Villa, among others, started to monitor his progress.

Kidd's current deal with the Scottish outfit is set to expire at the end of the season and Neil Lennon is eager to retain his services.

The 18-year-old is yet to make his senior debut but has impressed during this season's Youth Champions League campaign.

It is understood that Paul Lambert is an admirer of Kidd and sees him as a player that would work well within the development system at Villa Park.

However the Villains will face competition from FC Twente, Ajax and Sunderland who have also been tracking his progress.
