James Collins is confident Aston Villa can secure Champions League football but feels victory over Tottenham is vital.
Villa face Spurs in the Premier League on Saturday before a fixture against Manchester United next Wednesday.
Defender Collins believes victory over Spurs, who currently occupy the coveted fourth spot, is vital to Villa's Champions League push and remains confident his side can force their way into Europe's most prestigious competition.
He said: "In the next couple of weeks we have got some tough games against Tottenham and Manchester United and after that we can really kick on and look to finish in the top four.
"It's a big game against Tottenham and we're all up for it. We're in the Carling Cup final and in the FA Cup so that has given us massive confidence and we're going well in the league.
"Tottenham conceded a late equaliser at Birmingham last weekend and drew 1-1 so we've made a bit of ground up on them.
"If we want to finish in the top four we've got to put in a good performance and certainly not lose."
