Villa will check on the fitness of Darren Bent after Paul Lambert confirmed he is still doubtful for the QPR match with a foot injury.

The England striker has been out of action for almost a month and, although he is back in training, he remains short of the match sharpness that the manager would like to see before putting him back in.

Lambert added: ?Darren is striking the ball and is running but he?s still struggling a bit so we will have to see. I?ll see tomorrow whether I select the same side."

Fabian Delph serves the second of his two-match ban which could mean Yacouba Sylla keeps his place in a three-man midfield alongside Barry Bannon and Ashley Westwood.

Charles N'Zogbia could earn a recall, but Lambert will be reluctant to break up the attacking trio of Gabby Agbonlahor, Christian Benteke and Andreas Weimann.

Midfielder Karim El Ahmadi (ankle) is still ruled out along with long-term casualties Chris Herd, Marc Albrighton, Richard Dunne and Gary Gardner.
