Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has revealed he would like to sort out new contracts for Christian Benteke and Andreas Weimann.
The strike duo have both enjoyed impressive seasons, with Belgian ace Benteke scoring 13 Premier League goals and Austrian Weimann netting 11 in all competitions.
However, with Villa facing a battle to stay in the top flight, both players have been linked with moves away in the summer.
Lambert hopes the pair will stay if his side manage to beat the drop and says new deals for both are in the pipeline.
"I think you do that [give improved contracts] with most lads who are performing well for you," the Villa boss said ahead of Sunday's home clash with Liverpool.
"I tend to look at the whole squad and think 'you've done brilliant, we'll look at that'. If you have success, then things like that follow, but the big guy [Benteke] has been excellent for me and is a top guy as well.
"You want to work with them to keep them progressing."
When asked outright if he thinks the duo will be at Villa Park next season, the Scot replied: "You'd like to think so. We've given them an opportunity to go and do it.
"We might have bought Christian and it might have taken a year to 18 months to settle but he has come in, hit the ground running, and is getting talked about and it's the same with Andi.
"Up until this year, Andi wasn't in the side and you give him an opportunity and he has been excellent."
