Martin O'Neill says Aston Villa are still in the hunt for Champions League qualification despite dropping to seventh in the table.

Villa had to settle for the share of the spoils in a 0-0 draw against Tottenham at White Hart Lane and even though it has to be considered a point gained, O'Neill's men still slipped to seventh.

However, they are still only three points away from Liverpool in fourth and with the club still in the cups as well, O'Neill is delighted with the way the season is going.

"I think that we are still in the race," he revealed. "I'm just delighted that we are even being considered and we are still there with it and we've got things to look forward to.

"We are still in both cup competitions and I couldn't be more delighted with the team."
