Atletico Madrid are the latest club to be credited with an interest in Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.
Benteke enjoyed a remarkable debut season in the Premier League following a £7million move from Genk last summer, grabbing 23 goals in all competitions.
A number of clubs have been linked with the 22-year-old Belgian international, including Arsenal, Spurs and Borussia Dortmund, and the latest reports suggest Atletico are interested in the striker.
The Spanish club are on the lookout for a new forward as Radamel Falcao is expected to join Monaco when the transfer window reopens and Benteke has emerged as a potential target, with a fee in the region of £17.5-£20million mooted.
However, Villa are desperate to keep hold of Benteke, who has three years left on his current deal, and are reportedly prepared to resist offers in the region of £30million for the forward.
Boss Paul Lambert has revealed talks have already begun with Benteke regarding a contract extension and it appears as if the striker is set to remain at Villa Park next season, despite links with some of Europe's top sides.
