Tottenham will lead the chase for Aston Villa's in-demand striker Christian Benteke in the summer, according to reports in Belgium.

The 22-year-old Belgium international has been a revelation for Villa since his £8million summer arrival from Genk with 15 Premier League goals already in the bag.

He will be a key player in Paul Lambert's squad as the club look to stave off relegation to the Championship in the remaining 12 matches of the campaign but it appears that rival Premier League sides are jostling to try and take him when the summer transfer window opens for business.

Benteke's agent Eris Kismet admitted over the weekend that the player is focused on helping Villa survive this term, but he also revealed that he would ponder a move to a bigger club if all parties involved could reach a satisfactory agreement.

Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblad has now reported that Tottenham are leading the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for Benteke and will be expected to pay out around £15million for his signature.
