Tottenham will follow up the signing of Paulinho by stepping up their attempts to sign Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.
After wrapping up a £17million deal for the Brazilian international midfielder, boss Andre Villas-Boas will now turn his attentions to landing a new striker and Benteke is high on his wanted list.
The Spurs boss has also targeted Valencia striker Soldado but has been scared off by the £25million price tag and will attempt to land Benteke from Villa instead.
Reports claim Tottenham will offer £20million for the Belgium international, who cost Villa just £7million when they signed him last summer, but it still may not be enough.
Villa could ask for as much as £30million for a player who bagged 23 goals in a struggling side last season and Spurs will have to haggle the price down if a deal is to happen.
