Robbie Keane has indicated he would be happy to return to Aston Villa soon after enjoying his loan spell with the club.
The Republic of Ireland skipper has proven to be a big hit at Villa Park after bagging three goals in six appearances for Alex McLeish's men following his short-term switch from LA Galaxy.
The 31-year-old has proven he still has what it takes to cut it in the top flight of English football and as a result McLeish has reportedly been trying to extend Keane's loan deal beyond the end of this month.
However, MLS champions LA Galaxy are keen to have one of their star assets back ahead of the start of the season in America.
Keane will play his last game for Villa on Saturday against Wigan before flying back to Los Angeles but hasn't ruled out the possibility of a return to Villa Park somewhere down the line.
"There's been talk about me staying on at Villa but LA Galaxy are my parent club and I have to respect them," Keane told the Express & Star.
"I've enjoyed my spell here at Villa. It's a great club but it was my choice to go to the States.
"When I go back to LA, it could be completely different. At this moment in time, I can't tell what will happen.
"It's a case of watch this space. But people have seen over the years how quickly I leave if I don't think I fit in."
