Yacouba Sylla could make his first Villa start against West Ham with Ashley Westwood doutbul as he suffers from an illness.

The deadline day signing from Clermont Foot came off the bench to make his Villa debut in the 3-3 draw with Everton last weekend and boss Paul Lambert may need his size and power against a physical Hammers side.

Fabian Delph has recovered from an ankle injury after a two-game absence and is included in the squad for Sunday's home clash while fellow midfielder Karim El Ahmadi has also shaken off a knock to the knee sustained during the 3-3 draw at Goodison Park.

Lambert will run a fitness check over Westwood, but hopes of a return for defender Richard Dunne have been dashed by a recurrence of his groin problem.
